Description

4-(3-Bromo-phenyl)-piperidine is a radioligand that binds to the vesicular acetylcholine transporter (VAChT). It has been used as a radiotracer in binding experiments, which have shown that this ligand binds to VAChT with high affinity and selectivity. Binding studies using rat brain tissue have revealed that 4-(3-bromo-phenyl)-piperidine is a selective antagonist of the VAChT transporter, with minimal effects on other neurotransmitter transporters. This compound is stable at high concentrations and can be used for experiments involving radioiodinated ligands.
