Description

2-(2H-Benzotriazol-2-yl)-4,6-bis(1-methyl-1-phenylethyl)phenol is a chemical compound that can be used as an analytical method for the determination of polycarboxylic acids. It is used to determine the concentration of these acids in a sample by oxidation with oxygen and measuring the amount of carbon dioxide that is produced. It reacts with polycarboxylic acid molecules to form diazonium salts, which are then quantified with a carbonyl group. 2-(2H-Benzotriazol-2-yl)-4,6-bis(1-methyl-1-phenylethyl)phenol also has a hydroxyl group that reacts with fatty acids to form an ester and alcohol. This compound can also be used as a growth factor for cells, such as those from human erythrocytes.
