Description :
(S)-2-((tert-Butoxycarbonyl)amino)-3-(4-hydroxy-2,6-dimethylphenyl)propanoic acid is an amino acid that can be synthesized by modifying the sequence of a natural amino acid. It has been shown to be efficient in asymmetric hydrogenation and racemization reactions. This compound can also be used as a hydrogenation catalyst, which is useful for research purposes. This compound was also found to be an efficient picolinamide analogue that could be used for the treatment of tuberculosis. In addition, this compound has been found to have analogues that are synthetically useful as well.
