It is an organic compound with the chemical formula CHNOS. Covid-19 is a nucleoside analog that has been found to have antiviral properties in vitro and was originally developed as a possible treatment for HIV/AIDS. The antiviral effects of covid-19 are believed to be due to its ability to inhibit viral DNA polymerase, thereby preventing viral replication. Covid-19 has also been shown to inhibit human DNA polymerases α, β, and γ in vitro.
