- β-Tocopherol
Beta-tocopherol is a lipid-soluble vitamin that has antioxidant properties. It is the most common form of vitamin E and protects cells from oxidative damage caused by free radicals. Beta-tocopherol has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in adults, but is not recommended for use in children due to its potential inhibitory effect on muscle cell proliferation. Beta-tocopherol can be detected by fluorescence probe or redox potential and can be quantified using a fluorescence detector. The sensitivity of this technique depends on the type of beta-tocopherol used as a probe and the type of detector used. This product is an excellent antioxidant with an absorbance maximum at 280 nm, making it suitable for use as a fluorescence probe.
