Description

Basic blue 3 is a water-soluble dye that is used in wastewater treatment. It has been shown to have high adsorption rates on activated sludge, and can be used as a marker for nitrogen atoms. Basic blue 3 has also been shown to have a strong affinity for caproic acid, which may be due to the hydrophobic properties of the molecule. The surface methodology of this compound has been studied with kinetic data, and it was found that the pH optimum for this dye is between 10 and 12.
