N-(Benzyl)-3-Chloro-Propionamide is a pharmaceutical drug that is used to treat bowel disease, autoimmune diseases and locomotor activity. It is a substrate molecule for the enzyme particle, which catalyzes the conversion of the drug into its inactive form. This drug has been shown to have synergistic effects with sodium citrate and has been used in the treatment of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis. N-(Benzyl)-3-Chloro-Propionamide also binds to dopamine D2 receptors and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. The drug has been linked to several side effects including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, fever and abdominal pain. There are reports of increased risk of cardiovascular events when this drug is taken with other medications such as clonidine or tricyclic antidepressants.
