Description

4-(Benzyloxy)cyclohexanol is a complex molecule that is synthesized by the alkylation of benzyl alcohol with cyclohexanol. It has been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the preparation of other molecules, such as methyl benzoate and ethyl benzoate. The use of this catalyst makes it possible to produce these compounds in large quantities at lower cost. 4-(Benzyloxy)cyclohexanol also has a hydroxyl group on its ring structure, which can be used to form esters and ethers that are used in the synthesis of complex molecules.
