Description

N-Benzyloxycarbonyl-6-aminocaproic acid is a synthetic molecule that has been shown to inhibit ubiquitin ligases. It may be used as an antigen for the detection of cancer cells, and it can also serve as a potential drug for inhibiting the growth of cancer cells. This molecule is a peptidomimetic that mimics the structure of ubiquitin. N-Benzyloxycarbonyl-6-aminocaproic acid binds to ubiquitin through hydrogen bonding interactions and can interfere with the protein's function by forming crosslinks with other proteins. N-Benzyloxycarbonyl-6-aminocaproic acid has been found to have a high molecular weight (MW) and viscosity, which makes it difficult to use in biological systems.
