• Description: N-Boc-N-methoxy-N-methylpiperidine-4-carboxamide is a cholinergic drug that is used as an inhibitor of the vesicular acetylcholine transporter. It belongs to the class of enantiopure drugs and is an enantiomerically pure form that can be used in chemical syntheses. The racemic mixture can be resolved into its two enantiomers by treating with trifluoromethanesulfonic acid. Labeling of the drug has been shown to produce a variety of different radiolabeled compounds that are useful for research purposes. It is also possible to syntheses this drug using phenol and a presynaptic inhibitor, such as nicotine or physostigmine.
