Description

2-Bromo-2'-hydroxyacetophenone is a compound that has been synthesized as a potential drug for the treatment of infectious diseases. This compound inhibits the synthesis of phosphatase, which is an enzyme that degrades phospholipids, leading to cell lysis. It also inhibits the synthesis of meningitidis and other bacteria. 2-Bromo-2'-hydroxyacetophenone has been shown to be effective against some strains of staphylococci, including those resistant to fluconazole and antifungal agents. 2-Bromo-2'-hydroxyacetophenone belongs to the class of phenolic compounds with functional groups that can be used as drugs for antifungal infections.
