Description :
1,2-Bis(trimethylsilyloxy)cyclobutene is a hydroxy-functionalized organosilicon compound that can be synthesized by the reaction of trifluoroacetic acid with diethyl succinate and amines. This compound reacts in an asymmetric synthesis to produce cyclobutanone. The carbonyl group on 1,2-bis(trimethylsilyloxy)cyclobutene can be used as a model for the study of hydroxy-functionalized compounds with carbonyl groups.
