• Description: Butyrylcholine chloride is a choline esterase inhibitor that binds to acetylcholine receptors, preventing the release of acetylcholine. This prevents the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to an inhibition of brain functions. Butyrylcholine chloride has been shown to have inhibitory properties against signal peptide and target enzymes such as esterases and phospholipases. Butyrylcholine chloride also has a fluorescent probe that can be used for biological samples, such as enzyme activity in rat brain tissue. It is also used as pharmacological agents for treatment of Alzheimer's disease, myasthenia gravis, and other diseases involving cholinergic dysfunction.
