N-Boc-Propargylamine is a type of alkylating agent used to treat tuberculosis. It is an alkylation reagent that reacts with DNA, RNA, and proteins in the bacterial cell. N-Boc-Propargylamine has been shown to have minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) against a wide range of human pathogens. It also has been shown to be active against lung infections caused by both bacteria and fungi. The efficacy of this drug is due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of essential cellular components in the bacterial cell while being minimally toxic to mammalian cells.
