- 2-Benzyloxybenzeneboronic acid
- 2-Phenylmethoxy Phenylboronic Acid
2-Benzyloxyphenylboronic acid is a hydrophobic boronic acid that can be extracted from methanol and acetonitrile. It has been used as a model compound for studying the effects of boron on lipid metabolism. Boron has been shown to inhibit lipase activity, which leads to decreased triglyceride levels in blood plasma. 2-Benzyloxyphenylboronic acid also inhibits cholinesterases, which are enzymes that break down acetylcholine. This leads to increased levels of acetylcholine and an antilipolytic effect in the body.
