Bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm) is an organophosphorus compound that is used in organic synthesis. It is a redox potential agent and has been shown to have the ability to reduce copper ions to copper metal. Dppm has also been shown to be able to produce light emission from polymeric matrices. This element can form hydrogen bonds with other molecules, which are often found in organic compounds. Dppm is soluble in hydrochloric acid and trifluoroacetic acid, but insoluble in water.
