Description :
4-Bromo-2,2'-bipyridine is a bidentate ligand that can be used as a catalyst to facilitate the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of styrene and olefins. It has been shown to react with cyclopentadiene in an electrochemical system to form a dimerization product. 4-Bromo-2,2'-bipyridine has photophysical properties that are sensitive to substituents and structural changes. The ligand absorbs light at wavelengths in the range of 400 nm to 700 nm due to its mononuclear structure and bidentate nature.
