2-Benzylaminoethanol is a 2-adrenergic receptor agonist that has been shown to have the highest affinity for this receptor of all the amines studied. It is used in cell culture to stimulate the growth of cells and can be implanted as a polymeric matrix in tissue engineering applications. The drug was also found to have high resistance against hydrochloric acid, fatty acids, and perimeter agents.
