Description

Benzyl 3-bromopropyl ether is a synthetic molecule that has been shown to have insecticidal activities. This compound interacts with the macrolide functional group and inhibits cholesterol acyltransferase, an enzyme that is involved in the synthesis of cholesterol. Benzyl 3-bromopropyl ether has also been shown to be effective against leukemia cells in culture. The stereoselective nature of this molecule allows for the design of new analogs that exhibit improved biological activity.
