2-Benzotriazol-1-yl-acetamide is a nucleophile that reacts with electrophiles such as acids and amines to produce pyridine derivatives. 2-Benzotriazol-1-yl-acetamide is powerful and regioselective, being able to react at the β position of unsaturated ketones. It is also a good nucleophile in the cyclization of β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivatives. This compound can efficiently annulate with aromatic amines to form pyridine derivatives or ketones with β-unsaturated carbonyl groups.
