N-Benzyl glycine hydrochloride (NGBHCl) is a trifluoroacetic acid ester of pyrrolidinecarboxylic acid and an analogue of gabapentin. It has been used to study the linker effect in photophysical and biological properties. NGBHCl is also a diagnostic agent for radionuclides, such as technetium-99m, iodine-123, and iodine-131. This compound is used in the treatment of various types of cancer and in studies on the biological properties of radioactive substances. The carbonyl group makes this compound more hydrophilic than gabapentin.
