Description

N-Butyl ProPargyl carbamate is an antimicrobial agent that belongs to the group of chemical compounds called alkylphenoxy polyethoxy ethanol. It has a chemical formula of C10H19O3 and an empirical molecular mass of 213.24 g/mol. N-Butyl ProPargyl carbamate is used to preserve cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and other consumer products, as well as ingredients in food and beverages. The active ingredient is usually used in combination with other preservatives. This can be done by co-formulating two or more preservatives together, or by adding a preservative to a product formulation at the end of the manufacturing process. N-Butyl ProPargyl carbamate has been shown to work synergistically with benzene and surfactants like sodium lauryl sulfate for the removal of bacteria from water surfaces.
