Bz-glu-OH is a fluorescent probe that can be used in the study of ancillary mammalian cells. It has been shown to react with carboxypeptidase activity in tissues, lactam activated, and hydrochloric acid. Bz-glu-OH is also able to bind to coordination chemistry and titration calorimetry. This compound has been shown to have cancer inhibiting properties, which may be due to its ability to interact with hydrogen bonding interactions and coordinate chemistry. Bz-glu-OH reacts with ninhydrin reagent, which is a chemical that produces a blue coloration when heated.
