Description :
4-Bromoquinazoline is an antimalarial drug that acts as an antagonist at the adenosine receptors. It has been shown to have a high affinity for human and rodent adenosine A2A receptors. This drug has been shown to be effective in vivo against malaria, with selectivity for the A2A receptor over the A1 receptor. 4-Bromoquinazoline can be used in combination with mefloquine, which is an inhibitor of P450 enzymes, to treat malaria. The activity of this drug is likely due to its antagonistic effect on adenosine receptors.
