2-Bromo-1-(2,6-difluorophenyl)ethanone is a potent antifungal agent that inhibits the growth of fungi by binding to the DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. It is used in industrial applications as a fungicide, as well as in the production of polymers. 2-Bromo-1-(2,6-difluorophenyl)ethanone is an analog of malononitrile, which has been shown to be active against graminearum. This compound has shown inhibitory activity against both yeast and filamentous fungi.
