• Description: 3,3'-Bithiophene is a functional theory analog of thiophene. It can be synthesized in a stereogenic fashion by allylation of styrene with allyl bromide and ethyl diazoacetate in the presence of a chiral organocatalyst. 3,3'-Bithiophene is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of other compounds.
