Boc-L-thiaproline is an enzyme inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit the activity of protein kinase C (PKC) and chemokines. It is a synthetic analog of L-thiaproline, which is found in nature. Boc-L-thiaproline inhibits PKC by forming a covalent bond with its active site cysteine residue. This prevents PKC from phosphorylating other proteins and altering their function. Boc-L-thiaproline also has chemokine inhibitory activity and can be used for the treatment of inflammatory disorders such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
