Boc-D-Phe-Pro-OH is an inhibitor of bacterial peptidases. It binds to the active site of these enzymes and blocks the cleavage of peptide bonds, thereby inhibiting proteolysis. This inhibitor has been shown to be more potent than other inhibitors for certain peptidases such as thrombin, trypsin, and chymotrypsin. Boc-D-Phe-Pro-OH also inhibits the activity of phosphonates and carbonyl group formation in hydrogen bonding interactions.
