Description

O-tert-Butyl-L-allo-threonine is a methionine derivative that has been shown to be expressed in the human liver and kidney. It is synthesized by coupling of the n-terminal tryptophan with O-tert-butyl L-allo-threonine, which is then followed by a transpeptidation reaction. The resulting product can be used as an efficient insulin precursor for the production of human insulin.
