Description

O-tert-Butyl-L-serine t-butyl ester is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have strong antibacterial activity against bacteria, including anguillarum. It has been observed to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to amines on the bacterial cell surface, thereby preventing the synthesis of DHA and other cellular constituents. O-tert-Butyl-L-serine t-butyl ester also inhibits bacterial growth by preventing the production of enzymes, such as galacturonic acid and monomers from which they are made. This synthetic antibiotic is fluorescent under UV light and can be conjugated with other molecules for use in diagnostic tests.
