Description :
N-(4-Bromophenyl)-2-chloroacetamide is a synthetic antimycobacterial agent that inhibits the growth of mycobacteria by binding to their cell wall. It has been shown to be effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex, but not against Mycobacterium marinum. N-(4-Bromophenyl)-2-chloroacetamide is an inhibitor of the enzyme fatty acid synthase, which is responsible for the synthesis of fatty acids in bacteria.
