Description

4-Bromophenyl methyl sulfone is a molecule that binds to the benzoate, isoxazoles, biphenyl, and oxazolidinones. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to their active site on the enzyme molecule. This binding prevents the enzyme from carrying out its function in the cell. The cavity of this molecule is postulated to fit into the active site of certain enzymes and act as an analog or mimic. The reaction yield for this compound has not been determined.
