- Benzoic acid, 4-bromo-2-methoxy-
- Methyl 4-bromosalicylate
4-Bromo-2-methoxybenzoic acid is a chemical compound with the formula CHBrO. It is a nucleophilic reagent that can be used to synthesize other compounds. It reacts with lithium aluminium hydride (LiAlH) and aluminium hydride (AlH) to produce lithium 4-bromo-2-methoxybenzoate and aluminium 4-bromo-2-methoxybenzoate, respectively. These compounds are used in organic synthesis as Grignard reagents for the introduction of methoxy groups.
