Description

Tert-butyldimethylsilyl (S)-glycidyl ether is an enantioselective alkylating agent used in organic synthesis. It is a member of the class of tricyclic compounds, which are characterized by their three benzene rings joined together by one or more shared bonds. Tert-butyldimethylsilyl (S)-glycidyl ether is a lithiation reagent that can be used to introduce a lithium atom into an aromatic ring. It has been shown to affect the nervous system, although its mechanism of action is not fully understood. It also has optical activity and forms two geometric isomers that are optically active: dianion and monoanion.
