Description :
[(R)-2,2'-Bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl]ruthenium(II) Dichloride is a catalyst for asymmetric hydrogenation. It is an efficient and enantioselective catalyst that can be used to prepare optically pure alcohols and amines from racemic starting materials. The catalytic activity of [(R)-2,2'-Bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl]ruthenium(II) Dichloride can be attributed to the presence of chloride ions in ionic liquids. This catalyst has been shown to have high activity and selectivity for hydrogenation processes that use organic solvents as the reaction medium. The solvent-free process is also possible with this catalyst.
