Description

4-Bromo-4'-hydroxybiphenyl is a brominated derivative of biphenyl that has been synthesized using the Suzuki coupling reaction. This compound has been shown to be an inorganic base, which reacts with chloride ions to form a ligand. The ligand can then react with an anthracene molecule, yielding a cyclotriphosphazene product. 4-Bromo-4'-hydroxybiphenyl's ability to act as an inorganic base makes it useful for many types of reactions, including those involving bromine and halogens.
