4-Bromodibenzofuran (4BD) is a functionalized aromatic compound that can be used in the synthesis of organic compounds. 4BD is activated by UV irradiation, which allows for the use of copper oxide as an oxidizing agent. This product has been shown to undergo cross-coupling reactions with boronic acids, mechanistic studies have shown that 4BD undergoes C-H activation and substitution of halides. 4BD also has transport properties and homologous recombination activity.
