Description :
2-(4-Bromobutyl)-1,3,2-benzodioxaborole is a soluble, anhydrous organic solvent that is insoluble in water. It has a boiling point of 175 degrees Celsius and is azeotropic with carbon tetrachloride. This compound has been shown to be a good reagent for the preparation of boronic acid and boronic esters. 2-(4-Bromobutyl)-1,3,2-benzodioxaborole is also used as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and dyes. It is soluble in organic solvents such as toluene or xylene.
