3-Bromo-5-fluorobenzonitrile is a molecule with a molecular weight of 111.18. It has been used as an experimental drug in the treatment of schizophrenia and anxiety disorders, but its clinical use has been discontinued because of the potential for neurotoxicity. 3-Bromo-5-fluorobenzonitrile is a metabotropic glutamate receptor (mGluR) agonist, which means it activates mGluRs and mimics glutamate's effects.
