Description :
1-Bromo-3,4-difluorobenzene is a brominated organic compound that can be synthesized by the reaction of magnesium and bromine. The compound is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and other organic compounds. It has been reported that 1,1′-biphenyl-2,2′-dibromoethane can be prepared from 1-bromo-3,4-difluorobenzene by cycloaromatization with palladium, followed by cross coupling with 2-(trimethylsilyl)ethanol. This method provides 1,1′-biphenyl-2,2′-dibromoethane in good yield with high purity.
