Description

Biochanin A-7-methyl ether is a dihedral molecule that contains two methoxy groups. It is a marker protein for autophagy and has been shown to induce the process in cells. Biochanin A-7-methyl ether also has an ability to activate autophagy by binding to the endoplasmic reticulum, inhibiting the activity of fatty acid synthase and causing an accumulation of reactive oxygen species. This compound has also been shown to inhibit inflammatory responses and cancer cell proliferation.
