Description :3-Bromo-4-methoxybenzyl alcohol is a natural product that belongs to the group of alcohols. It is an intermediate in the synthesis of combretastatin A-4 and combretastatin. 3-Bromo-4-methoxybenzyl alcohol has been shown to have a molecular modeling pharmacophore that includes a triazole and chloride. The chloroiodomethane used in its synthesis can be brominated, which results in two possible products, 3-bromo-4-methoxybenzyl bromide or 3-bromo-4,5'-dimethoxybenzyl bromide. The hydroxyl group on the 3'-position of the benzene ring can also be replaced with a methoxy group.
