• Description: 6-Bromobenzo-(1,3)-dioxole-5-carboxylic acid is a natural product that is synthesised by the reaction of hydrochloric acid with bromobenzene and dioxolane. It has been used as an intermediate in the synthesis of carbaryl, which is used as an insecticide. 6-Bromobenzo-(1,3)-dioxole-5-carboxylic acid has also been shown to inhibit the biosynthesis of berberine in plants. This compound can be synthesized by reacting noradrenaline with hydrobromic acid or deuterium oxide.
