Benzoylaconine is a chemical compound that has been shown to have cytotoxic, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is found in the aconite roots of Aconitum ferox and related species. Benzoylaconine has been shown to inhibit the production of estradiol benzoate in human serum samples by inhibiting the activity of p-glycoprotein. The use of benzoylaconine as a pharmacokinetic marker may be limited by its hydrophobic nature, which leads to poor solubility and high affinity for proteins.

The effect of matrix effects on benzoylaconine's pharmacokinetics has been studied in rats using liver microsomes. The researchers demonstrated that benzoylaconine was metabolized at a slower rate when it was injected into rat liver microsomes than when it was injected into human serum samples. This suggests that the matrix effect can lead to different pharmacokin
