2-Bromo-5-methylanisole is a monocyclic, phenylated norsesquiterpene that is used in the production of the fragrance senecio. It has been shown to have an ultrasonic activity and can be used as a fragrance enhancer. 2-Bromo-5-methylanisole has been found in plants such as Senecio, which is a genus of flowering plants in the daisy family Asteraceae. This substance has been found to be one of the major constituents of Nobile's quiterpenes.
