Description

2-(4-Bromophenyl)benzothiazole is a pyridyl-containing compound that is used as an organic semiconductor. It has strong optical absorption and emission, which are used to detect the chemical species. It is also used in a functional theory of devices, such as solar cells, light emitting diodes, and photodetectors. 2-(4-Bromophenyl)benzothiazole is an electron acceptor that can be used to generate electrical current when it absorbs light at its chromophore. This material has been shown to emit light with a wavelength of 490 nm when irradiated with x-rays or ultraviolet radiation.
