Informations sur le produit
- Benzothiophene-5-carboxylic acid
- Benzo[b]thiophene-5-carboxylic acid
1-Benzothiophene-5-carboxylic acid is an intermediate in the synthesis of a variety of heterocycles. It is used to synthesize indole and azidoacetate, which can be used for the synthesis of other compounds.
1-Benzothiophene-5-carboxylic acid is prepared by the reaction of ethyl azidoacetate with cyclohexanone followed by treatment with benzene in the presence of sodium hydroxide. The resultant product is hydrolyzed to 1-benzothiophene-5-carboxylic acid. The compound reacts with nitroethane and a base (e.g., potassium carbonate) to produce azidoacetate, which can be used as a precursor for other compounds.
