The emission of 1,4-Bis(bromodifluoromethyl)benzene can be reduced by utilizing diode lasers or by refluxing in solvents such as benzene. Fluorescent emissions are observed in the presence of fluoride ions and this reactant's solvents have an absorbance at 230 nm.
