- acetamide, N-[(4-bromophenyl)methyl]-2-fluoro-
N-[(4-Bromophenyl)Methyl]-2-Fluoro-Acetamide belongs to the class of antibiotics called quinolones. It is a bacteriostatic agent that inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting the synthesis of proteins, which are necessary for the bacteria's growth and reproduction. N-[(4-Bromophenyl)Methyl]-2-Fluoro-Acetamide has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis in vitro and in vivo. N-[(4-Bromophenyl)Methyl]-2-Fluoro-Acetamide has been shown to be effective against wild type strains of E. coli and C. coli K12, but not against mutants with altered ribosome binding sites.
