• Description: Bis(4-fluorophenyl)methyl(chloromethyl)silane is a Grignard reagent that can be used in the synthesis of organosilicon compounds. It is prepared by the reaction of hydrochloric acid and magnesium, followed by the addition of chloromethylmagnesium chloride. This compound has been shown to be effective as a fungicide against potato late blight and cucumber powdery mildew. Bis(4-fluorophenyl)methyl(chloromethyl)silane is colourless and has a boiling point of 158°C.
